Admission Process 2017-18

Admission Process and dates for Junior KG 2017-18

Dear Parents,

This letter is to inform you that we are starting the admission process for the academic session 2017-18 for Junior KG from 6th September, 2016.

Admission process for other grades (SK – G 12) will commence from 2nd January 2017.

Junior KG admission is bifurcated into 4 categories.

There will be a single round of admission for Junior KG.  Please note that Fountainhead Preschool parents, also have to complete the admission process, including attending the “Education for Tomorrow” workshop, submission of admission form & documents, paying admission fees etc. All this has to be done within the deadlines given. No priority will be given if you miss the deadlines.

Admission dates for Junior KG is as follows:

Categories Priority Dates
Category A This  is for children of Fountainhead School staff. 8th August 2016 – 10th August 2016 (Admission starts for sibling and staff)
Category B This  is for siblings of Fountainhead School students (only the younger child of a parent who already has a child studying in Fountainhead School). 8th August 2016 – 10th August 2016 (Admission starts for sibling and staff)
Category C Fountainhead School reserves seats for students studying in Fountainhead Preschool after admissions in Category A and Category  B. Amongst these, there may be a preference for either male or female students depending on the seats already filled up so that we  are as close as possible to maintaining a  gender ratio of 50:50. (This means we will strive to meet the criteria of 80 boys and 80 girls in Junior KG)Admissions will be on the basis of a draw system (if applicants are more than seats available) There will be a separate draw system for boys and girls.

If number of applicants applied are same or less than seats available, admission will be given to all FP students for that category after screening the forms.

6th September 2016 – 9th September 2016 (Admission starts for FP students)
Category D Admission process for Category D will be done only if there are any seats remaining after the admissions of Category C. Seats will be open as per male /female ratio. 3th -5th October 2016 (Admission starts for other preschool students if seats left after FP admissions)

CHANGE IN POLICY:

There are 2 changes to our admission policy:

  1. For admissions to Junior KG for academic session 2017-18, we have done away with 80:20 ratio for students of Fountainhead preschool and students from other preschools. We have allocated all the remaining JK seats to FP students (after confirming admission of Cat A & B) and current Nursery admission. This policy has been revised based on the feedback given by many FP parents. However, maintaining gender ratio will be given priority on an overall basis. Hence, based on that , Category C admission seats will be bifurcated as per male /female ratio.
  2. While the school already follows a fair and ethical process, to make the process more robust and water-tight, a  parent committee will oversee and audit the entire admission process to certify that the school conducts admissions as per policy defined and that there is no foul play or scope of influence/ external pressure.

The below mentioned table states the  seat availability scenario for Jr. KG admissions for 2017-18 session.

Details of Seat Availability 2017-18 (JK) Boys Girls
Current Nursery (2016-17) 10 10
Reserved Seats for Staff 5
Total Seats Available for 2017-18 session 135

Below table show a probable scenario for Jr. KG admissions (Cat C) for the academic year 2017-18:

Details of Seat Availability 2017-18 (JK) Boys Girls
Current Nursery (2016-17) 10 10
Reserved Seats for Staff 5
Total Seats Available for 2017-18 session 135
Boys Girls
Probable seat occupied by Category A & B (staff & sibling) as per 2016-17 data 20 10
Probable Seats Left for Category C (FP) 52 68

FAQ:

Q1) What about the remaining seat after the admission of Category C girls? Will it be transferred to Category C boys?

A1) As we want to maintain the gender  ratio, we will not be transferring the remaining seats to Category C boys. We will be opening these seats for Category D girls.

Q2) What about Category D boys admission? Will you be opening seats for Category D Boys?

A2) If there would be any seats left after the admission of Category C admissions, then we will open admissions for Category D boys.

  1. 3: What about waitlist?

We would give a waitlist of 10 boys and 10 girls. The first preference for both boys and girls waitlist will be exclusive only for students of Fountainhead Preschool. If there are less than 10 takers for boys and girls in the waitlist, we will give waitlist number to students from Category D.

Q.4: My son is studying in Nursery in some other preschool. What are my chances of getting admission in Junior KG?

Based on data over the past two years, we doubt if there would be seats left for admission for boys in Category D. There would be a very small possibility for the same.

Q.5: My daughter is studying in Nursery in some other preschool. What are my chances of getting admission in Junior KG?

Based on data over the past two years, we think she stands a good chance. If there are more applications than the number of seats available, there will be a lucky draw for the same.
