What do we expect from you
General Expectations
 
  1. Be a learner
  2. Cooperate with us:
    1. In the first few days
      1. Transportation
      2. Meals
      3. Timetabling
    2. Always
      1. Give respect to all school staff
      2. Try to be in time for meetings at school
  3. TUITIONS are a big no-no!!!
  4. Support & trust because we are trying to do something different
  5. Trust your child too – every child wants to do her best but we have to give them that opportunity
  6. Both parents to play equal but unique roles if the child’s education
  7. Help them be regular in school
  8. Plan vacations / major events accordingly
  9. Take care of their health
Communication Related Expectations
 
  1. Both parents to try and attend as many Parenting Workshops & Parents Curriculum Meetings as possible
  2. Go through the handbook in detail so that you understand how the school functions
  3. Attend your child’s events at school as far as possible
  4. Be prompt in reading & responding to circulars, notes in the communication diary
  5. Feel free to ask the school questions – but only when you have done your homework well (i.e. reading all school communication)
  6. Bring any issues to us promptly (through notes / phone call / e-mail / visit)
  7. Pay the fees in time (and make everyone’s life simpler)
  8. Constructive Suggestions / Criticism
    1. Suggestions along with criticism is always welcome
    2. You are welcome to give us your feedback – however please make sure that you have been through all our material / attended our workshops
    3. Every 3 month a newsletter to communicate our actions on your suggestions
    4. Similarly, parents should be open to feedback from school / teachers about their child regarding performance, issues, as well as your own performance as parents
What we expect you should be doing at home
  General
 
  1. Do encourage your child to talk a lot and express herself
  2. Encourage them to be independent in work habits
  3. Train your child to be independent in their daily routine as well as habits
  4. Keep a track of your child’s friends at school and after school hours
  Specific
 
  1. Be involved in the child’s education
  2. Help them with surveys, projects, research, communication, presentation but don’t do it for them or outsource them.
  3. Book reading (we will issue for the child; yours you can issue whenever you wish)
  4. Family-value building
  5. Balanced Routines
  6. Exposure to wide variety of happenings (rather than the standard malls, restaurants, theaters and gardens/amusements parks)
  7. Volunteer where possible
What we don’t expect from you
 
  1. Discussing the child in her presence with other members of the family and teachers
  2. Comparing your child with other children/ siblings in any manner- favorable or unfavorable
  3. Criticizing school/ teachers in front of your child
